The event brought together creatives, community workers supporting new Scots and, climate-motivated food growers to examine how food growing & related activities (e.g. composting) can be considered as climate actions.

The group shared a meal - catered by Gomo Kimchi and which drew on mixed heritage reference points - during a World Cafe discussion. Personal reflections in response to prompts were made on paper place mats which doubled up as zines.

Creative rituals were embedded throughout the meal including an opening message-writing activity on tea bag labels, the reading of a curated poem during the meal and the writing of a letter to be secured in a envelope made from a serviette and added to compost with the food waste.

The ‘history’ of the food, both recent (where it was grown) & earlier (its cultural roots) was printed on the menu alongside the ingredients.
