M*ther Arts Survey: socially engaged practice
The survey is now closed. The findings will be released shortly.
Who?
This survey was conducted by me to gather data for my research project as a member of the Emerging Curator’s Group 2024 which is delivered by the British Arts Network. The British Arts Network is supported financially by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British art and Tate.
Why?
I want to gain a better understanding of the landscape of socially engaged arts projects by, with and for m*thers in the UK as well as celebrate this work and share learnings to support sustainable models for the future.
Aims
My aim is to incorporate this data into a snapshot of socially engaged arts project by, with and for m*thers which have taken place within the last 3 years across the UK, centering Glasgow and rippling out across Scotland and the UK in terms of geographical focus. I anticipate that this will take the form of a map which will place projects geographically as well as by providing more information about the framework, ways of working and funding models of the projects. If you do not consent to have your personal data shared (name, contact details or professional description), your projects will be mapped anonymously e.g. name and description of the project as you provide it in the survey.
